big machine

first book i read this year. i was really drawn in by the juxtaposition of the supernatural and black culture - something i haven’t really read before.

(very) brief plot summary: a group of ex-cons and former junkies are called together mysteriously to join a secret library looking for evidence of god. 

apparently the author draws a lot of comparison to haruki murakami but i haven’t read anything of his…. yet!
